B.                 Introduction

The programme is designed for the advancement and proficiency in Business Administration by expanding the frontier of knowledge and generating practical solutions to the dynamic and multi- faceted problems confronting the nation as well as international business environment.

C.                 Philosophy

The philosophy of the programme is the development of highly skilled and globally competitive academics for the private, public and international organisations, as well as for teaching and research in tertiary institutions. It is also for the enhancement of the students‘ professional skills as it is devoted to both advanced theoretical studies and more practical skills for self-reliance as well as for the labour market. .

D.                 Aim and Objectives

The aim of the programme is to enhance the theoretical and practical knowledge base of the students.

Objectives:

  1. developing the candidates advanced students‘ skills in critical thinking and analysis to enable them assume broader and higher academic responsibilities in a rapidly academic global environment;
  2. promoting research efforts directed towards meeting the socio-economic as well as cultural needs of the society;
  3. exploring new frontiers of knowledge through scholarly research and innovative endeavour in the respective areas of specialisation directed at the immediate and long time needs of the society; and
  4. providing critical manpower needs in the area of management for national development.

E.              Admission Requirements

Candidates are required to possess the following:

  1. Five ―O‖ Level Credits passes or equivalent subjects including English Language Mathematics and Economics and two other social science subjects.
  2. Graduate with a Second Class (Honours) Lower Division or its equivalent from the University of Ilorin or any other recognised university.
  3. Candidate must sit for qualifying examination organised by the department and score a minimum of sixty percent (60%).

F.                   Duration of the Programme

The Full-time programme shall run for a minimum of 18 calendar months and a maximum of 24 calendar months.

Managing and resolving workplace conflicts. Dispute resolution and conflict management in both various and non-various settings. International dimension of business: trade, financial and foreign investment patterns. Problems and policies at the corporate and national levels. Impact of international codes and organisations on corporate policies in home and host countries. Effect of changing governmental policies on strategies for managing international operations.   • Graduation Requirements

To graduate, candidates must register for courses carrying not less than 36 Credits and not more than 40 Credits and must earn a minimum of 36 Credits including all Core and Elective courses. In addition, candidates must score not less than 50% in the weighted average of the best 36 credits which must include all Core and Elective courses.
