B. Introduction
The programme is designed for candidates who score below the average 60% or 3.5 required to proceed from M.A. to the Ph.D. programme. Students are therefore required to audition necessary courses at the
M.A. level, though they may not sit for the examination. On the successful completion of this programme, the candidate can then proceed to the Ph.D. programme through a conversion programme which involves passing Protocol/Seminar presentations to be assessed by the Performing Arts Postgraduate Board with an Internal/External Examiner from a related Department.
C. Philosophy
The philosophy of the programme is to premise on developing an advanced rational and critical thinking on the various facets of aesthetics of the Performing Arts. It is hoped that the M.Phil./Ph.D. students will be able to theorize a philosophical thought into a protocol dissertation in their area of specialization for the general development of the performing arts internationally.
